Looking For Services, Where do I begin?

 

* I know the services I want .....

If you know the services you are looking for then use Search for Services.  The screen will show you a list of service providers for the county you selected.This will give a list of service providers for the location you selected and show you a map and directions to their location.

 

* I'm not sure what I need or what is available.....

If you are not sure what service you need or what services are available, then use the Self Assessment. You answer a few simple questions and a list is given for the services you might need.

 

* Health Care Products.....

If you are looking for an assistive technology, devices and/or supplies we have a link to ABLEDATA.  They maintain an extensive database covering 19 categories.  ABLEDATA provides objective information about assistive products and rehabilitation equipment available from domestic and international sources. ABLEDATA does not sell any products, but they help you locate the companies that do.

 

* WebMd.....

Alabama Connect provides a link to WebMD.This is a leading website providing information on illness, disease, drugs and drug interactions.

 

* Legislation.....

Need to know who your Legislator is or how to contact them? Alabama Connect provides an easy search along with other legislative information.

 
* Benefits Checkup.....

Alabama Connect provides a link to BenefitsCheckup.org. This site was developed and is maintained by The National Council on Aging (NCOA). It is a comprehensive Web-based service to screen for benefits programs for seniors with limited income and resources. BenefitsCheckUp includes more than 1,550 public and private benefits programs from all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

 

* EPI - Emergency Patient Information..... 

Blue Cross Blue Shield provides this service free of charge.  The site is protected for privacy if you follow all procedures and personal safeguards.  Our agency encourages seniors and their caregivers to consider using this service and keeping the information current in the event of a personal emergency or community disaster.

 

* Emergency & Disaster Preparedness.....  

The Alabama Department of Senior Services is part of a coordinated preparedness system. This system serves and protects senior adults and other designated individuals. One of the primary functions of the Department is to serve as the coordinating body for the aging network in preparing for and recovering after a disaster. Coordinating service delivery efforts following a disaster, in order to normalize lives as quick as possible, is imperative. My Emergency Plan
